- The average American youth spends about 900 hours per year in school, and over 1,000 hours per year watching TV.

- When you have more TVs, chances are, more that your family members are watching- instead of spending quality time together, doing homework, and being active.
- Towering rates of childhood obesity are a result of both poor nutrition and an inactive lifestyle.
- Eating dinner or snacking in front of the TV is linked to overeating and dissatisfaction.
- Many of the commercials we see show appetizing foods-fast food, junk food, soda, alcohol, sugary cereals, and candy.

For seven days, people around the world will turn off their TVs and find something better to do. However you can also consider turning off that TV permanently. Well, it sounds impossible, and for some people turning off the TV even for a week is unimaginable.
How Turning off the TV can make your life better

- Get active! You thought you don't have time to exercise, turn off the TV and start exercising.

In relation to a follow-up survey by TV-Turnoff Network, 80% of TV-Turnoff participants said they liked to alter their viewing habits and now watch less TV. They were startled by the facts that a little less TV had a great impact on them and their family.
